What is Codimg?

The first and most important question. Basically, Codimg provides software solutions for video-based observation in healthcare, education, human resources and any other industry that would benefit from analysing the performance of students and workers.

We offer 360º solutions that include Codimg Premium (desktop software), Codimg View (iOS app) and Codimg Hub (cloud-based solution for storing and sharing videos).

All of Codimg's solutions are 100% compatible and adaptable to the needs of you, the end-user.

Can I install Codimg on both a PC and a laptop?

Yes, you can. Codimg software can be installed in as many computers as you wish. But the usage will be restricted to the number of licenses you have purchased.

For instance, if you have just one license, you will only be able to work on one computer at time. To commute between computers, you need to deactivate the license on the first computer and then activate it on the other computer. It is a very simple quick task but you will need an internet connection to do it. After this process you can terminate the internet connection if you want.

Duration of Codimg Licenses

All Codimg licenses are lifetime licenses. In other words, once payment has been received, the license is yours to keep indefinitely.

However, we recommend a Support and Update Service subscription which ensures compatibility with operating system and third-party software updates.

Is there a trial version I can try?

Yes. We provide a completely free no-obligation trial of the software for 30 days.

Once we receive your request, one of our video observation experts will get in contact with you, providing a download link for the software.

Can you use a Codimg license on multiple computers at the same time?

No, you can only have your license active on one computer at a time. 

You can, however, deactivate the license on one computer and reactivate on another in order to switch machines. An internet connection is needed to complete this process.

Where to find your license number

You can find your license number by clicking Support / Updates on the main menu and then Registration and Activation of License.

It's a good idea to keep a note of this number as you will need it if you reinstall the software in the future for whatever reason.

Does the trial version have any limitations?

The trial version has exactly the same functionality as the full version. The only difference is that after 30 days it will cease to function and your exported videos will contain a watermark.

Can the trial version be installed on two different computers?

Yes, on as many computers as you like.

All versions will cease to function after the initial 30 days expire.

Do I need an internet connection to use the software?

If you're using Codimg Premium, the majority of the features of the software are completely offline.

You will, however, need an internet connection if you are using Codimg AI or the Codimg Hub live sharing feature.

You do, however, need to connect to disable and enable the license if you want to switch computers.

This process only takes a few minutes and then you can work completely offline.

If you are using Codimg Hub, on the other hand, an internet connection is needed as it's an online platform.

Is the software compatible with HD videos?

Yes, up to a resolution of 1920x1080. Correct playback may depend on the hardware of the computer you are using and the software you currently have installed.

Take a look at the minimum specifications in section above to get an idea of whether your computer is suitable or not.

Can I use Codimg on Mac?

Yes. Our desktop software, Codimg Premium, is available for both Windows and Mac operating systems.

Codimg View, on the other hand, is only available for iOS at the present time.

Which formats does Codimg on Windows support?

Windows:

Videos (*.mov, *.mp4, *.m4v)
Images (*.jpg, *.jpeg, *.bmp, *.png)
Audio (*.mp3, *.m4a, *.acc)

Do I need a video camera?

If you want to film and tag a live training or workplace event, you will need a camera.

If you want to tag an event without a video or import a video, then you won’t need one.

Do I need previous experience?

No. Codimg is designed to be user friendly and intuitive. Anyone can learn the basic in a few minutes.

Starter's Guide

Convert analysis data (XML file)

If you are having issues uploading your analysis data (XML file), please follow these steps:

1. Download and install the Sublime Text program (www.sublimetext.com, Available for Windows and macOS)

2. Open Sublime Text.

3. Click File, followed by Open File and find and open the XML file you are trying to upload.

4. Now click File followed by Save with Encoding and select UTF-8.

You will now be able to upload this saved XML file to Hub.

I have recorded a scenario in bits and pieces because I stopped the recording during downtime

Is it possible to merge these videos and analyse them all at the same time?

We recommend you merge different video files and convert them into one file before tagging. You can do this with Codimg: In the main menu, click “Tools” in the menu on the Codimg home screen and you will find the “Merge Videos from Same Source” option. 

Alternatively, you could analyse each file separately then add clips from each timeline into a Presentation window. This process is possible in Codimg View as they allow you to work with unlimited videos in these environments.

Can I add slides or cover images to my feedback sessions?

Yes, you can add both images and PowerPoint slides (in .ppt or .pptx formats) to lists using the corresponding buttons in the feedback session environment.

This is a useful way to add extra contextual information or organise your session.

Is it possible to open two digital templates at the same time?

No, you cannot open two digital templates at the same time. 

Is it possible to save graphics from a frame and work with them outside Codimg?

Yes, any drawings added using the KlipDraw drawing tool can be saved and exported as a jpeg.

If I tag an action incorrectly, can I change it in the timeline at a later time?

Yes, you can. You must select the clip to be moved, keep the Control key pressed, then drag and drop it into the correct action row.
